Ceiling Speakers

The first homes of ceiling speakers were office buildings, restaurants, and airports. The reason why people used ceiling :

• Some space in the room can saved.
• The room still maintain from aesthetics.
• The wires will hide.
• The holes in the walls can getting rid.

There weren’t many fans of wall or ceiling-mounted speakers in the past. They are not for those who are into high-end audio with in-wall and ceiling speakers one thing for sure. You’ll need to pay attention to the following parameters even if not an audiophile:

• Frequency response- the human ear can hear 20 Hz to 20 MHz.
• Power handling- can safely receive from the amplifier (e.g. 20-100 watts)
• Efficiency- how effectively the speaker uses the power sent to it by the amplifier.

How you capture the back wave is a key aspect in having in-wall or in-ceiling speakers. Use sealed speakers is the answer, no matter their location.

Mounting the speakers

To mount ceiling speakers usually is a lot easier than in-wall speakers, where there is a fake ceiling at least. More of an architectural problem when mounting in-wall speakers. That’s why we can called “architectural speakers”. Having small rooms, thin wall, and wires bursting from one room to another that people don’t like.

Before building the walls, figuring out the wires is the part you should do. As the wall is being raised, inseting the speakers can be done on the run. As a speaker’s enclosure some people successfully use the drywall. A bit more difficult and pricey when installing the speakers in an existing wall or ceiling.

When you want the speakers mounted in, find out what’s behind the wall and see if you can drill. Before build the speaker-enclosures you need to make some holes into the desired spots. Ceiling speakers can be pointed towards the listener because they are flexible within a given degree. You can perfectly black them out because most in wall speakers have paintable grilles.
